Dont forget those rural areas, where going to the furniture store is sometimes a days drive. So, you like what youve heard so far? Well, it gets even better. The majority of frames, mattresses and covers that I sell are made in the USA. A claim that those mega marts wont even try to make. I strive to sell as much product thats made in the USA as possible. I live here, and want to promote American made products.
It is the one part that is not 100% essential, but at the same time can improve your frame by 200%. Today you can find futon covers in a wide variety of colors, patterns, prints, and materials. Here are a few questions to ask yourself when looking for a futon cover. Do I need a cover that is washable? What is the difference between a natural and a synthetic fibers? I always recommend a washable cover to anyone that has pets or young children.
Futon beds also tend to cost less than the more traditional sofa beds. However before buying a futon bed and mattress you should decide exactly what function the futon bed will be put to use. First, futon beds tend to come in two varieties; a bi-fold frame or tri-fold frame. A bi-fold futon bed is where the frame folds the mattress in half; down the middle, lengthways. A tri-fold futon bed is where the frame folds the mattress into thirds, widthways; one third forms the seat, one third the back, and the final third folding over the back or underneath the seat.
Finally, always buy the best you can afford. There are many top rated futon bed mattresses to choose from. You can find them in many department stores these days, or you can find many makes and models of futon beds on the internet. Remember, know exactly what type of futon bed mattress you require before you go out and buy one. When the futon industry was born back in the 1980s, the frames were well thought out and well constructed.
Early designs involved a steel tooth design that would fit into pocket welds on the arms. These would snap off over use. The alternative design was to run a bolt through the arms and into the rails. While better it still did not address the issue of bending stretcher rails. Bent hinges also added another issue that would happen from use over time. While not as common as the other problems this issue still led to the failure of many black metal frames.
