As a couch, students can use the futon to entertain or watch TV. Then they can open it for guests to sleep on. For dorm rooms, modern futons can be used as a way to diversify a space. Used as a couch during the day and a bed at night, the dorm room can look like a living room or a bedroom depending on what a student wants to have at any one time. There are also outdoor futons and swing futons for patios or porches.
The benefit of a click clack bed is that it will have an innerspring mattress, and the armrests are removable if needed. A lounger futon provides the purchaser with different options for the furniture. It can be used like a couch, with the bottom part of the futon curled underneath, as a lounger, with the top portion upright and the bottom part extended, or as a bed. Lounge futons are often sold without armrests, and some people like to create their own sectional by placing a lounger and a love seat or three seat futon together.
Natural fibers, cotton and linen are nice and soft to begin with, but can wear faster than synthetics. Synthetic fibers; polyester, nylon, rayon and such; might not be quite as soft but they last longer than natural fibers. Synthetic fibers have come a long way, they are constantly being improved and they hold vivid dyes that cotton and linen cant. A good compromise between Natural and Synthetic fibers is blends of the two, which are in abundance in the futon cover market.
